Javier Feito is a partner in the Firm’s Entertainment, Media & Technology Group and Cannabis Practice Group. His practice focuses on a full range of domestic and international multi-media and corporate transactional and regulatory matters, including e-commerce and technology, entertainment industry transactions (rights acquisitions, talent related matters, live performance engagements, corporate structuring and acquisitions for entertainment and multi-media related entities), advertising, licensing, joint ventures, and commercial contracting and negotiations. Mr. Feito’s clients have included television, internet, and mobile-based content producers and licensors, event producers, media and technology investors, website operators, international superstar talent, live performance venues, marketing agencies, brand owners, media providers, above and below-the-line talent, media executives, and aviation and travel companies.  

Mr. Feito’s background combines his senior in-house counsel experience for two multinational companies and his private practices experience. Such 360° perspective on “both sides” of the negotiation table make him a pragmatic and effective negotiator and “closer,” providing effective counsel to his clients to secure profitable and practical agreements. Mr. Feito has an acute understanding of the development, production, and exploitation of content and live events in traditional and new media channels, having negotiated deals for creators and production houses in these arenas for a wide range of media broadcasters including Amazon, Apple TV, Fox, CNN, Disney, HBO (and HBOMax), NBCUniversal, Netflix, Telemundo, Televisa, Twitch, Univision, and YouTube, among others.

Prior to joining SMGQ Law, Mr. Feito was Senior Counsel in Greenspoon Marder’s Entertainment, Media & Technology Industry Group, where he served as lead counsel with respect to several high-profile entertainment transactions in domestic and international markets. Prior to Greenspoon Marder, he was Senior Corporate Counsel to the largest Latin American air carrier in the world, and Director of Legal Affairs for a media subsidiary to one of the largest broadband and telecommunications providers in the world, where he provided day-to-day general counsel services and negotiated several cross -border transactions, one of which included negotiating a multi-million dollar asset acquisition of various mobile carriers throughout Latin America.
